So Yahweh God said to the serpent, “I will put hatred to the death between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” – Genesis 3:15

In the midst of the Fall, Jesus gave Adam and Eve a promise that a male descendent (seed) of Eve would crush the head of the serpent. In the events of Exodus, Jesus continues to battle the serpent and his seed, but now the conflict is between two entire nations.
